Book One - The Godless World

The Clan of the Black Road have left their northern home where they have lived in exile for many years, and they are moving South into the lands they claim as their own. Nor do they come alone. They have persuaded one of the ancient races to assist them. Much blood will flow.

Orisian sees his father killed before he is forced to flee. His journey will take him to many strange places.

Compleling storytelling and gritty realism (for once I agree with the blurb on the rear cover) make this an enjoyable read.

My two minor problems were that you have to look closely to see that this is the first book of a trilogy., and too many of the names were complicated but similar.

A good read.
