Lex Trent Versus The Gods
Alex Bell
Reviewed by Ian Jamieson

As a seventeen- year old teenager Lex Trent is one of the most obnoxious characters I have ever come across.

He is a thief, swindler, con artist, liar, and loud mouthed braggart. Unfortunately Lady Luck is on his side, and as one of the three contestants involved in the Games, he will need all the luck he can get. The Games are run by the Gods, -yes real live Gods, and involve tasks in which magic, Enchanters and fearsome beasts are encountered.

This is a book for teenagers only, although this is not mentioned anywhere on the cover or inside. (I could only manage to read about half the book before I gave up)

The writing is reasonable but the plot and characters are strictly for youngsters.

Adults should give it a wide miss.
