Established in 1969 and based in Johannesburg, Science Fiction & Fantasy South Africa (SFFSA) is a club for fans of both science fiction and fantasy. Membership benefits include:

Probe

Since the late 1960s/early 1970s, Probe has been our A5 club fanzine, published three to four times a year depending upon contributions. The bulk of Probe comprises short stories from the finalists and winners in our annual Nova Short Story Competition. A complete set of all issues of Probe is available in our library.


CONTRIBUTIONS

All contributions are welcome! We love receiving:

  • letters of comment (LOCs) from around the world
  • reviews of books, movies and events
  • international con reports and happenings
  • news articles and interesting links from around the world
  • quizzes and crossword puzzles
  • poetry
  • art work (high contrast grayscale, preferably)

or anything else of science fiction, fantasy or general scientific interest that may tickle your fancy.

Back Issues of Probe

From May 2010 we will be publishing back issues of Probe here. It will be the full Probe as printed. Some things will work better electronically, others will not. Printed copies, where we still have some, are available for the nominal amount of R10 plus postage. Please email us with the number of Probe that you want, and we shall take it further.
